Flying Geese Sampler Quilt

A magnificent example of old Nova Scotia quilt patterns stitched into squares and framed with a rich red and green Flying Geese border. This large square in then set out on point with four additional samplers filling out the corners. The names of the patterns shown in the quilt are: Double Wedding Ring, Lovers Knot, Blazing Star, Butterfly, Star of Annapolis Royal, Hour Glass, Dresden Plate, Happy Thought, Old Maids Eyebrow, Ship of Dreams, Mariner's Compass and of course, Flying Geese.
